Hello Nori Hand Roll
Restaurant
The newest Hello Nori restaurant, located in The Amazing Brentwood in Burnaby, BC, marks the brand’s second location, designed and built by our team at Concrete Cashmere Designs. This 1,802 sq. ft. space continues to embody Hello Nori’s dedication to providing an elevated hand roll experience, but with distinct design elements that set it apart from its original Robson Street location.
The Brentwood location’s interior reflects a deeper connection to the Pacific Northwest, combining natural materials like wood, metal, and concrete to create an ambiance inspired by the region’s landscapes. The design mirrors the Japanese aesthetic of wabi-sabi—finding beauty in imperfections—paired with Western modernism. The use of these materials evokes mountain landscapes, contrasting with the wave-like wooden ceiling that draws inspiration from the ocean, similar to the Robson location but with a more pronounced connection to Vancouver’s unique blend of urban and natural beauty.
The U-shaped bar remains a central feature, offering 24 seats where patrons can observe the hand roll-making process up close, a key part of the Hello Nori experience. The menu continues to offer their popular hand rolls, featuring sustainable, fresh seafood, with options for various dietary preferences.
Overall, the Brentwood Hello Nori location represents a thoughtful evolution of the brand’s design ethos, maintaining its signature elements while reflecting the local environment in a unique way.
